Roshel to Unveil New Generation of Canadian Defence Vehicles at CANSEC 2026

Brampton, Ontario – Roshel, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of special purpose and protected vehicles,  will present a new generation of Canadian-developed mobility and protection solutions at CANSEC 2026, including  the debut of its revolutionary LUV platform, the Canadian manufactured ExtremV vehicle, the new Senator Medical  Evacuation Vehicle, as well as the latest variants of the Senator Emergency Response Vehicle and Senator Counter

UAS Vehicle. The unveiling comes as Canada advances its new Defence Industrial Strategy and places renewed  emphasis on sovereign land vehicle capabilities.

The company’s participation at CANSEC 2026 reflects Roshel’s continued growth beyond traditional armored vehicles  into broader defence mobility, survivability, and tailored to the realities of modern conflicts and evolving national  security requirements.

Roshel’s new LUV platform builds on the company’s proven ability to rapidly adapt vehicle design, protection systems,  and operational features based on direct feedback from active deployments. With more than 2,500 Roshel vehicles  currently in service in Ukraine alone, the company has established a continuous feedback loop between frontline  experience and Canadian manufacturing, allowing lessons from modern conflict to be quickly translated into improved  capability, survivability, and operational flexibility.

“Modern defence procurement is changing rapidly. Countries need scalable, flexible, and economically sustainable  solutions that can respond quickly to evolving threats without maintaining enormous inactive fleets,” said Roman  Shimonov, CEO of Roshel. “Canada has identified new sovereign capability requirements in land vehicles through the  LUV and DAME programs, with a strong focus on Canadian-made solutions, domestic manufacturing, and secure local  supply chains. Roshel aims to support these Canadian programs with its domestically manufactured vehicle platforms,  including the new LUV and Senator Medical Evacuation vehicle.”

Together, the new platforms reflect Roshel’s broader vision for the future of defence mobility: Canadian-built solutions  that are scalable, practical, and informed by real operational experience. Whether through the LUV’s state-of-the art modular protection concept, the ExtremV’s high Canadian-content tactical platform, or the Senator Medical  Evacuation Vehicle’s advanced evacuation system designed to allow wounded personnel to be extracted and loaded  with minimal physical effort, Roshel is focused on giving defence and security customers the tools to strengthen  readiness, sustain fleets more efficiently, and meet operational requirements as threats evolve.

As Roshel marks its 10th anniversary, the company’s CANSEC 2026 showcase reflects more than a decade of  investment in Canada’s defence industrial base. Through vertically integrated manufacturing, Canadian supply chain  partnerships, and a continued focus on sovereign capability, Roshel is demonstrating how Canadian industry can  support the core objectives of Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy, building trusted government-industry  partnerships, strengthening secure supply chains, and delivering the capabilities Canada and its allies need.

REVOLUTIONARY NEW LUV PLATFORM

The centrepiece of Roshel’s presentation at CANSEC 2026 will be the public debut of its new LUV platform, a fully  Canadian-developed and supported vehicle platform that signifies a significant breakthrough in military mobility and  fleet readiness.

The LUV introduces an entirely new approach to protected mobility. Unlike traditional armoured vehicles, the platform  can operate in two different configurations:

Soft-skin configuration with standard doors, glazing, ergonomics, and driving characteristics identical to a traditional vehicle.

Fully armoured STANAG Level 2 protected configuration, including blast protection, achieved within approximately 2 hours by replacing key components such as doors, windshield, and other modular protection elements.

This capability enables operators to transform regular operational fleets into protected vehicles in just 2 hours,  eliminating the need to maintain separate inactive armoured fleets.

The platform is specifically designed for the operational realities of countries such as Canada, the United States, and  many European nations, where large-scale armoured mobilization may not be required in peacetime but rapid  readiness and scalability are critical.

The LUV platform offers:

  • 100% Canadian development and integration
  • Canadian driveline and Canadian industrial supply chain integration
  • Ballistic steel developed in partnership with Algoma Steel
  • Coast-to-coast in-service support across Canada
  • Extensive parts commonality
  • Standard driver operation without the requirement for special licenses or extensive specialized training
  • Global support infrastructure through Ford’s worldwide service and support network

The platform also directly benefits from Roshel’s operational experience with more than 2,500 vehicles deployed in  active conflict environments, providing valuable real-world feedback on survivability, maintenance, mobility, and  crew protection.

EXTREMV: HIGH CANADIAN CONTENT TACTICAL PLATFORM

Roshel will also unveil the new ExtremV vehicle, developed and localized in partnership with ST Engineering. The  ExtremV has been designed to support future Canadian defence mobility requirements, including programs such as  DAME, while leveraging Canadian industrial capabilities and domestic component integration.

The ExtremV is a high-mobility, all-terrain tracked vehicle engineered for extreme operating environments, including  snow, mud, alpine terrain, desert conditions, and the Canadian North. Its twin-cabin design allows independent  movement between the front and rear cabins, improving mobility across uneven terrain and reducing the risk of  becoming high-centred or bogged down.

The platform offers amphibious capability, a payload capacity of up to 4,000 kg in its soft-skin configuration, a  range of approximately 350 km, and the ability to operate in temperatures from -46°C to +49°C with the use of a  cold start kit. Its modular architecture allows the rear cabin to be reconfigured for multiple mission roles, including  troop carrying, command post, cargo and equipment transport, and ambulance operations.

The ExtremV is operational worldwide with elite defence and civil agencies; the ExtremV shares the tactical DNA of  platforms deployed by the UK MoD in Afghanistan. From high-risk firefighting in Germany to disaster response  missions in Thailand, Japan, and Mexico, the platform has proven it excels in high-stakes environments.

Roshel confirmed that the company is already prepared to begin large-scale production and assembly of the platform  in Canada.

NEW SENATOR MEDICAL EVACUATION VEHICLE

Roshel will additionally present its new Senator Medical Evacuation Vehicle, developed based on extensive  operational and combat feedback from modern conflict environments.

Built on the battle-proven Senator platform, the vehicle combines:

  • Blast and ballistic protection
  • Urban and off-road mobility
  • Rapid casualty evacuation capability
  • Advanced ergonomic medical evacuation systems

The vehicle features the Frestems evacuation system, enabling wounded personnel to be extracted and loaded with  minimal physical effort, including operation by a single individual when required.

The platform has been specifically designed and engineered to address the realities of modern battlefield casualty  evacuation while maintaining high mobility in both urban and off-road environments.
